European digital archive on soil maps (EuDASM): preserving important soil data for public free access
نویسندگان
چکیده
Historical soil survey paper maps are valuable resources that underpin strategies to support soil protection and promote sustainable land use practices, especially in developing countries where digital soil information is often missing. However, many of the soil maps, in particular those for developing countries, are held in traditional archives that are not easily accessible to potential users. Additionally, many of these documents are over 50 years old and are beginning to deteriorate. Realizing the need to conserve this information, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the ISRIC-World Soil Information foundation have created the European Digital Archive of Soil Maps (EuDASM), through which all archived paper maps of ISRIC has been made accessible to the public through the Internet. The immediate objective is to transfer paper-based soil maps into a digital format with the maximum possible resolution and to ensure their preservation and easy disclosure. More than 6,000 maps from 135 countries have been captured and are freely available to users through a user-friendly web-based interface. Initial feedback has been very positive, especially from users in Africa, South America and Asia to whom archived soil maps were made available to local users, often for the first time. ارزیابی و بررسی تعمیمپذیری مدل استنباطی خاک- سرزمین (SoLIM) در نقشهبرداری رقومی خاک با استفاده از مدل رقومی ارتفاع و مشتقات آن
Discrete Models of Spatial Variability (DMSV) have limitations for soil identification in traditional soil maps. New approaches, generally called digital soil mapping (DSM), using continuous methods (CMSV), try to predict soil classes or soil properties based on easily-available environmental variables. The objective of this study was to map the soil classes of the Borujen area, Chaharmahal-va-...

Typical routine surveys of soils are relatively expensive in terms of time and cost and due to the fact that maps have been traditionally developed and considering their dependence on experts' opinions, updating maps is time consuming and sometimes not economical as well. While soil digital mapping, using soil various models - the Landscape, leads to simplification of the complexity found in na...

Any changes in the climate system affect on the access and management of natural resources such as water and soil. Temperature and precipitation are the key elements of climate for studying their trend can be important for atmospheric scientists, environmental managers and planners in the field of hydrology, agriculture, environment and so on. In this study, the trend of climate fluctuations wa...

The aim of this study is to estimate runoff in Wadi Ba Al Arid watershed for a period of ten years 2009-2018 by Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) method in combination with the GIS techniques using remote sensing data. The used data are the daily rainfall data from NASA Prediction of Worldwide Energy Resource (POWER), digital elevation data (DEM) from ALOS PALSAR RTC , satellite...
متن کاملApplication of soil properties, auxiliary parameters, and their combination for prediction of soil classes using decision tree model
Soil classification systems are very useful for a simple and fast summarization of soil properties. These systems indicate the method for data summarization and facilitate connections among researchers, engineers, and other users. One of the practical systems for soil classification is Soil Taxonomy (ST). As determining soil classes for an entire area is expensive, time-consuming, and almost ...
